Catherine Richmond graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and later earned a Master of Science from DePaul University. She began her career in healthcare, serving as an Advanced Practice Nurse (NP-C) at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where she managed the cardiology research department for five years. In this role, Catherine oversaw research budgets and worked closely with hospital administrators to strengthen the financial and operational performance of the cardiac research center.

In 2011, Catherine and her husband, Tyler Richmond, a Lexington native, relocated to Lexington. Drawing on her analytical background in healthcare and experience managing complex budgets, Catherine transitioned into financial planning. She holds her Series 65 license and specializes in working with high-net-worth clients in healthcare and other professional fields.

Catherine is the mother of two school-aged daughters, Lucy and Tyler Quinn Richmond. She is an avid tennis player and enjoys sailing on the Great Lakes, where she grew up. She remains connected to Northwestern University by conducting undergraduate alumni interviews for applicants from Kentucky.

Catherine and her family have lived across from Henry Clay Estate since 2015. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Henry Clay Memorial Foundation.
