Born and raised in Lexington, Brian graduated from Georgetown College where he studied Finance and Investment Management.  In addition, Brian is a graduate of Kaplan University where he obtained his CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™) certification. Brian has also obtained the CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst) designation, which is a professional certification for financial advisors and investment consultants in advanced portfolio construction, administered by Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with Yale University School of Management.

Before joining the team at Ballast in 2015, Brian served as Vice President and Portfolio Manager for a super-regional bank in Lexington where he managed over $400 million.  With more than 19 years of experience managing complex investment portfolios, Brian brings a level of expertise that adds significant value to our clients’ experience.

Brian has volunteered on numerous local and state boards, including serving as Treasurer for the Kentucky Humanities Council and Bluegrass Crime Stoppers. He has been involved with Refuge for Women for more than a decade.

Aside from his work, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife Megan, and their two children Harper, and Hayes. He enjoys his time outdoors, hiking, golfing, and coaching baseball.
